Mental Health Services

Talk to one of our mental health professionals

Early identification and treatment can make a big difference for successful management of an illness and recovery. Yet only one-third of adults and less than one-half of children with mental health symptoms receive treatment. One reason is that symptoms may not be immediately recognized. Another is that stigma – and silence – surrounding mental health symptoms discourages many people from seeking help. Still another is lack of access to mental health care.

At the Wellness & Prevention Center, we provide individual, family, and group mental health services, with the goal of addressing symptoms when they first emerge, thereby leading to healthier outcomes. We specialize in serving youth ages 12-25 at easy to access locations in schools and community based locations. We offer services to anyone regardless of insurance coverage.

Teens Searching for Support

Get the facts

1 in 5 youth experience a mental health condition that impacts their daily life.

50% of all mental health conditions begin by age 14 and 75% begin by age 24.
Approximately 13% of youth live with a serious mental health condition. Only about 20% of these youth get the treatment they need.

What to watch for:

Parents and caregivers are the experts about their child. If you suspect your child is struggling emotionally or behaviorally, follow-up with a doctor or mental health professionals.

  • Changes in sleep patterns – both trouble sleeping and sleeping more
  • Extreme mood swings, particularly anger in teen boys as this is often a symptom of depression
  • Isolating from peers and family
  • Changes in eating
  • Participating in high-risk behaviors – this can often be a teen’s method for seeking help
  • Drop in grades
  • Lack of self-care
